Cheri Lemieux Spiegel

I specialize in writing studies, pedagogy, and writing program administration. I teach college composition, advanced composition and professional writing courses at NOVA.

Student engagement is a common thread throughout my scholarly agenda. My current research explores the role persistence, curiosity, and flexibility play in critical thinking, inquiry, and information literacy. This examination aims to develop understanding of how these traits are fostered as well as how they inform perceptions of success and failure within writing classroom contexts. This research is informed by also studying the opposing characteristics of apathy and rigidity.
