NOVA CC 2016 is a technology camp designed to cultivate a conversation about implementing digital humanities in community colleges. Digital Humanities is transforming how we study and learn the humanities, but many of the existing projects and advice for implementing DH are designed for University settings–not community colleges. After attending the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute on Implementing Digital Humanities in Community Colleges last summer, we created the DH Working Group at Annandale Campus. Our first order of business was to organize this THATCamp in order to both share what we learned and collaborate with other CC folks with a similar passion. We want to bring together faculty, staff, administrators, and community members to discuss what the digital humanities means for our students and to strategize how we might implement it in a community college environment.
